You may be wondering what happens once you’ve been in touch with us to start organising your affairs.

Hopefully this guide will help answer some questions you may have but please do just give us a call if there is any further information we can provide you with, or if you have any questions. We’re always happy to hear from you.

Ahead of your meeting

Once contact has been made to book an appointment, please be aware we are happy to offer options to suit your circumstances.

If you have a preference for how you would like us to contact you, please let us know. Telephone, letters, email, large font, audio transcription, braille – just let us know.

Please also let us know if you have a preference for the time of day you prefer to be contacted if by telephone or for arranging meetings. We’ll always try our best to accommodate what you need.

Sometimes we will ask you to bring information along to a meeting. We’ll always make it clear when it is something we need to progress or whether it’s something that would just be helpful to have.

Most meetings take place in our welcoming office in Westbury on Trym. There is usually parking on the street nearby or alternatively, two car parks in the village which are around a 3-5 minute walk away.

Our office is not wheelchair accessible unfortunately but we are of course happy to meet somewhere else of your choosing, just let us know when booking.

There is a slight step in to the office reception which has firm chairs for you to wait. There is one step in to the meeting room which can comfortably seat 4-5. You are very welcome to bring someone along with you (friend(s), family etc).

The bathroom is a further three steps away.

On average, meetings last around 45 minutes to 1 hour. It can be a lot of information to absorb in one go sometimes so if you prefer to have more, shorter meetings, please just let us know.

Our adviser will get to know you and what you hope to achieve by having a relaxed chat and will be happy to answer any questions you have. Sometimes it can be helpful to write down your questions and bring them with you. We’ll have paper and pens available if you would like to make notes too.

The meeting

Next steps

The next steps after your initial meeting will depend on what we are hoping to help you with. Some people will be looking at investments, pensions or other ongoing services, some people will be coming to arrange Wills, Power of Attorney or estate administration services for example. For others it may be a combination.

Once you have met our adviser, our team do research behind the scenes to help prepare the most suitable advice for your circumstances.

We’ll always send the advice to you once it has been prepared (however you prefer to receive it) so you will have time to digest it, perhaps discuss it with anyone you would like to before meeting with our adviser again.

Depending on your circumstances, there may be a number of options to consider so the adviser will present everything to you and you can discuss what might suit you best.

Again, if you prefer to meet over a few occasions, this is absolutely fine. Just let us know.

Please do bring any questions you may have.

At this point, you may know how you would like to proceed and will be comfortable being welcomed as a new client. It is also of course absolutely fine to go home and have a think about what you would like to do. We can arrange further meetings if you feel you need further clarity about anything that has been suggested.
