SOLLA Talk Series at Badminton Place

We’re delighted to present a series of three evening talks with Richard Higgs, Independent Financial Adviser and accredited Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) member. These sessions are free to attend and open to residents, their families, and members of the public.

Talk 1: Lasting Powers of Attorney and Wills
Tuesday 14th October, 6pm – 7pm
Badminton Place, Cribbs Causeway

Understanding how to prepare for the future is vital. In this session, Richard will cover:

  • What a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is and how it works

  • The responsibilities of acting as an attorney

  • The role of mental capacity in planning ahead

  • Why keeping your Will up to date matters

Talk 2: Planning for Care Fees
Tuesday 25th November, 6pm – 7pm
Badminton Place, Cribbs Causeway

Paying for care can be one of the biggest financial challenges later in life. This session will explore:

  • Options for funding care

  • Protecting your savings and assets

  • How good planning can provide security and choice

Talk 3: Savings, Investments, Pensions & Inheritance Tax
Tuesday 3rd February, 6pm – 7pm
Badminton Place, Cribbs Causeway

In this practical talk, Richard will explain how to make the most of your money later in life. Topics include:

  • Making savings and investments work for you

  • Understanding pension options in retirement

  • Inheritance Tax planning and passing wealth on efficiently
